Where to pray, and who to pray with

There are two mosques in town and two prayer spaces on campus. Between them, you can pray every prayer without going far.

The masjid (ISCP)

The local mosque. It began in 1982 as a small prayer area in a rented apartment and is now the centre of community and student life here, working closely with the Penn State MSA. It is entirely run by volunteers.

The Main Masjid

The larger of the two, and the one that holds both Friday Jummah prayers. Start here if you only go to one.

Masjid Al-Awwābīn

ISCP's second, smaller masjid on the west side of town — daily prayers and community gatherings, closer to campus.

Jummah

  • First Jummah — khutbah begins 1:30pm, prayer straight after.
  • Second Jummah — khutbah begins 2:30pm, prayer straight after.

Daily iqama times change through the year. The live prayer timetable is on iscpmasjid.com.

There are separate prayer areas for men and women, wudu facilities, on-site parking, and wheelchair access. It is a bus ride from campus rather than a short walk.

  • Friday Jummah, 1:30pm — in the Frizzell Room and the Pods at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.
  • Pasquerilla room 119 — a dedicated prayer room with a wudu area.
  • Boucke 325H — a newer, more central meditation and prayer space near the HUB. This is the easiest one to reach between classes.

Beyond Friday prayer

Throughout the year, ISCP hosts community events including Ramadan iftars, Eid celebrations, family gatherings, and graduation celebrations. These are often where lasting friendships begin and newcomers find the community they come to rely on. No invitation is needed — just come as you are, and bring your family.
